A 32-year-old Cambridgeshire police officer has been charged with five counts of making indecent photographs/pseudo images of a child. Det Constable James Jordan is also charged with three counts of misconduct in public office. He first appeared before magistrates in Luton earlier this month and will appear in court again next month, at St Albans Crown Court.

Cambridgeshire police released details of the first court appearance, citing "some confusions around reporting restrictions which have now been resolved".

DC Jordan is based at Thorpe Wood Police Station, Peterborough.

He appeared at Luton Magistrate's Court on November 9 and the following day at Stevenage Crown Court. charged with five counts of making indecent photographs/pseudo photographs of a child and three counts of misconduct in a public office.



Outcome:

The former Cambridgeshire police officer was jailed after pleading guilty to all of the offences. James Jordan, 32, was dismissed without notice from his job as Detective Constable at Thorpe Wood Police Station following a misconduct hearing on January 30.

Jordan pleaded guilty to five counts of possession/making indecent images of a child, which included 62 category A images, the most serious category possible. He also pleaded guilty to three counts of misconduct in a public office.

Jordan was sentenced to four years at St Albans Crown Court on Friday February 10 2023. He was also given a Sexual Harm Prevention Order and put on the Sex Offenders Register for 10 years.
