A Former councillor has been jailed for five years at Cardiff crown court for historical rape. During the mid nineteen-eighties Jolly collected the 15 year old girl from her home, took her drinking before taking her to a flat, showing her into a bedroom and getting into bed with her and raping her.

When arrested, Jolly claimed she was an active participant, that she suggested going to bed, also claiming she was 'touchy feely' and instigated the sexual activity.

Alan Jolly, 68 at the time of the trial in 2003, was sentenced to 5 years in prison.
